The Song of Tyllman Lushfeld
The Song of Tyllman Lushfeld The darkening sky and the whispering sea, are not vast enough to describe the longing in my heart. The salty air of the City of Men fills my lungs as I press through the bustling crowd only to see if you've arrived at last. As each night before, you come into my life, and sit in a darkened corner of my heart tormenting me with your frolicsome eyes. My soul burns with longing as your stare shifts through the room, resting, pausing, but never stopping. So many times I've come to you, asked you for a moment, only to be spurned by your flaming heart. The shadows of night gather about you, covering you in their cold mist as you continue to wait for one that is not me. Then, as the lonely clock strikes midnight, he arrives in a hush, to meet you as has every night before. I watch as you talk, breaking my heart with every word, for even though he receives only your harshest words… it's more than you've given me. To have your attention, if only for a fleeting moment, to listen to your voice cut so deep, is more than I can wish for. Being so close to him tarnishes your magnificent beauty, yet you pay me no mind as he leads you from the tavern. This man who has your gaze, who is he to take you away from me every night? Who is he that you would speak to him? The wind from the sea speaks to me as I watch you leave, yet its words are nothing compared to the longing I feel for you.
